Title | Sandford Randolph |
Description | Karen Randolph (daughter of Sandford F. Randolph) at the opening ceremonies cutting the ribbon at the Jack Tar Hotel in 1961. The Jack Tar Hotel in San Francisco occupied a full city block at the intersection of Geary Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue. Sandford F. Randolph was an owner and builder of Cablevision of Virginia and organized and was two-term president of the West Virgina Cable Association. He was active with the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) and elected vice-president and, in 1960, president. He was the only person to serve as both president and chairman of NCTA and he was also an honorary member of the board of directors of The Cable Center. He helped to combat early regulation of the cable industry. Sandford F. Randolph, Ginny Ann Randolph, Karen Sue Randolph, Virginia Randolph and Bill Dalton are in the forefront of the picture. |
