DescriptionLeroy "Ed" Parsons with his airplane. Parsons, electronics engineer, built the first cable system in the United States that used coaxial cable, amplifiers, and a community antenna to deliver television signals in Astoria, Oregon. In 1948 a television company in Seattle was to begin broadcasting and he discovered a way to bring the signal 100 miles south. In May 1968, Parsons was acknowledged as the father of community antenna television
