TitleExecutives at HBO party in Lufkin, Texas
DescriptionOriginal caption: "New York - Home Box Office, Cablecom of Lufkin and TV Cable Co. of Diboll Texas, co-hosted a party Sept. 28 at the Civic Center in Lufkin to inaugurate the pay service in both neighboring systems. From left are Lufkin system manager Wayne Neal; Cablecom-General Inc. Chairman and President Richard Forsling; HBO Chairman Gerald Levin; Temple-Eastex President and Time Inc. Vice President Arthur Temple of Diboll; Time Inc. Vice President Dick Munro; and CATVs Systems Inc. President Ben Campbell, owner of the Diboll system and newly elected president of CATA. After less than one month of marketing, the Lufkin system has achieved pay TV penetrations that exceed national averages for traditional cable markets by over 25 per cent. First week results in the neighboring Diboll system show a similar pattern of accelerated consumer acceptance of the HBO program package."
