TitleColumbus, Ohio, QUBE customers watching and scoring the Roberto Duran-Sugar Ray Leonard boxing match
DescriptionOriginal caption: "It was 'QUBE Party Night' in Columbus , Ohio, where some 50, 000 fight fans took in the Roberto Duran-Sugar Ray Leonard World Welterweight Championship bout over Warner Amex's two-way, interactive QUBE cable TV system. In addition to seeing one of the best fights of the century, QUBE subscribers in 7, 000 households were able to score the fight using QUBE's home console with five response buttons. In an interactive survey before the fight, 32 percent of QUBE households said 9 persons or more were watching the bout from their homes. Pictured here are Mike Fitzpatrick holding a QUBE console and his wife, Jane with their guests Howard and Marilyn Hutchinson." June 20, 1980.
