Ms. Hamilton received a First Prize grant of $2, 000 and a personal Savings bond of $1, 500; Second Prize awards of a $1, 500 grant and $1, 000 Savings Bond went to Ms. Nash; and Ms. Ascher received a third Prize Grant of $1, 000 and a $500 Bond. Ms. Peggy Charren represented the panel of educational judges who selected the winners from entries across America. The A&E Teacher Mini-Grant Competition encourages teachers to submit education projects using television, specifically A&E programs, as positive teaching tools in the classroom."
