Title | C-SPAN's new office space. |
Description | Original caption: "C-SPAN, the cable network devoted to gavel-to-gavel coverage of Congress and public affairs, has signed a 10-year lease with the 400 North Capitol Street Building, two blocks from the U.S. Capitol. The network will occupy the building's 6th floor, which has been vacated by Amtrak. C-SPAN's name will adorn the building's front starting November 1, when the move is completed. Robert Kennedy, C-SPAN vice president of Business Affairs, said the network decided to stay on Capitol Hill to be close to most of the events it covers. Pictured from left at the network's new offices are Donald Dement, manager of the 400 North Capitol Street Building, Brian Lamb, chairman and CEO of C-SPAN, and Robert Kennedy. The new lease includes two 5-year renewal options, new studio facilities, and the C-SPAN name on the outside of the building. C-SPAN has occupied parts of the fourth and seventh floors of the building's North Tower and will vacate those premises." |
